Are you a fan of truffle infused dishes?

Welcome to Tokidon, home to one of the best Truffle Wagyu Beef Bowls.

We’ll just cut to the chase – Their Truffle Wagyu Beef is AMAZING.

Charred on the outside and tender on the inside, each bite is a multi-dimensional enjoyment.

The bowl had the rich aroma of truffle from their Signature Truffle Soy House Blend, and yet the truffle did not overwhelm the dish.

This was something appreciated as many truffle-infused dishes go overboard, and thus instead of complementing and enhancing the overall taste of the meat, the whole dish becomes an off-putting mouthful of truffle.

The next dish we tried was an off the menu item – Char Siew Rice.

The Char Siew came in small diced up chunks and was made with a good blend of lean and fatty meat.

This way of presentation is unique as most Char Siew pieces are served in bigger slices.

Although we felt that the cubes are less satisfying then a whole slice, the meat cubes were well marinated and bursting with flavour as they entered our mouths.

The plain and sticky Japanese rice also further enhances the flavour of the Char Siew and this dish was truly a delight.

The bowl also came with a gooey, wobbly onsen egg that tasted really great when mixed in together with the rice.

Make sure you get each scoop of eggy rice with the Char Siew Cubes!

Another dish we tried was their Salmon Cha Soba.

This dish came with sashimi-grade Salmon glazed with teriyaki sauce, an onsen egg and loads of Cha Soba.

The Salmon was very fresh and slightly crispy on the outside.

We liked that it was well cooked and not overly dry.

The Cha Soba had a nice bite – slightly chewy and smooth. Make sure to mix the onsen egg with the Soba as the noodles can get a little clumpy without the usual Soba sauce.

The final bowl we had was their Wagyu Sukiyaki Don.

Indulge in Wagyu Short Plate topped with sauteéd onions and shimeji mushrooms.

The Wagyu meat once again was really tender and soft and tasted amazing along with the slightly caramlised onions and mushrooms.

Aside from bowls, Tokidon also has side dishes that you can pair with their selection of Japanese Sakes.

We ordered their Mentaiko Ebi Fried Skewers and Tori Karaage Skewers with yuzu mayonnaise. Both were warm and freshly fried when they arrived.

Each bite was crisp and a delightfully sinful treat.

Wash everything down with their range of Sakes.

Don’t be fooled by the seemingly cute exterior of this cup.

Each mouthful gives a kick, with a subtle fruity sweetness and just a slight tinge of sourness.

You can select a more lethal and stronger option as well, indicated by the Sake cup lacking of a cheery cartoon character on the front.

In all, Tokidon is definitely worth the visit.

Pop by during lunch for a hearty bowl of Truffle Wagyu Bowls, or simply chill with your colleagues after work and down some Sake and fried skewers amongst Tokidon’s funky decor.
