With the recent influx of Hotpot Restaurants all over Singapore, it can be hard to decide which restaurant is worth spending your money at. We’ve found a hidden gem tucked away in Marina Bay Financial Centre that is worth taking the trip down – B.B Hotpot!
While B.B Hotpot is rather new to the hotpot scene, the quality of their food and broths speak volumes.
The owners of B.B Hotpot truly believe in serving quality meats and the freshest seafood, putting every effort and care into making each customer’s dining experience the best.
To start our meal off, we decided to place an order for their Mantou buns as an appetiser and we were not disappointed!
One plate had 6 piping hot and crispy buns with an incredibly fluffy centre. Dip them into the pool of thick condensed milk provided on the side and chew on all that sinful goodness!
Another appetiser that we HAD to try was their Spanish Iberico Pork Char Siew.
We dare to say that this is the BEST Char Siew we have ever tasted in Singapore.
Each piece was beautifully marinated and caramelised to perfection – Crispy outer skin and melt-in-your-mouth meat!
Indeed, using premium Iberico Pork belly makes a huge difference in the quality of Char Siew you get! Plus, their slow roasting technique brought out the taste and texture of the pork and yet helped to retain its juicy moisture.
B.B Hotpot’s Char Siew was SO good and we had to practice some self-control not to order another huge plate because we had to save space for their yummy hotpot! (Yes, their Char Siew dish deserves 3 amazing pictures solely dedicated to it)
For their Hotpot, we had the option to select 2 soup bases and we chose their famed Collagen Cod Fish Bone Soup and Spicy Miso. Sadly, the Mala Soup Base was out of stock then. However, the Collagen Broth and Spicy Miso broth were delightful.
The Collagen broth was very rich and smooth, while the Spicy Miso had the perfect balance of spice – Spicy enough to give a slight kick that paired really well with all the ingredients, but not too much to give you a coughing fit.
In addition, one thing great about their broths is that NO MSG is added in! This makes B.B Hotpot a healthier choice, PLUS, you won’t get crazily thirsty afterwards.
B.B Hotpot’s menu is extensive – Loads of quality and premium beef, pork, chicken and even lamb, along with a huge variety of seafood, vegetables and side options.
Their seafood was really, REALLY fresh and this quality was apparent in every single bite. We enjoyed the generous servings of prawns, fish slices and our favourite – Prawn Balls!
The Prawn Balls are a MUST ORDER.
Each Prawn Ball had a rich and sweet flavour with a bouncy texture.
For those who are willing to take a splurge, order their fresh scallops that are (as recommended by the bosses) best cooked by dipping them in for a short few minutes when the soup is just bubbling.
Be careful not to overcook them in order to retain the scallops’ natural sweetness and flavour!
You can pair all their hotpot dishes with their huge variety of noodles (Glass noodles, Maggie Mee, Potato Noodles and more), potatoes or rice.
We chose their La Mian and got two huge chunks of noodles to throw into the pot!
The dishes by themselves are flavourful enough, but if you’re looking to add on that extra oomph, head over to their condiments station for a variety of chilis, sauces and vegetable toppings!
Remember to try their Signature Chili Sauce!
In all, our experience at B.B Hotpot was a great one.
Not only was the food really worth it, the level of service provided by the staff was exemplary.
They were quick to clear out empty plates, attend to our requests and were polite.
