If variety is what you’re looking for, Fusionspoon Cafe is the place to be!
This cafe is located at Botanic Gardens – the perfect place to rest and grab a bite after taking a leisure stroll through the beautiful compounds of the World UNESCO Heritage site.
While most eateries serve around 20-30 food items, Fusionspoon’s extensive menu blew us away – with over 100 food items, excluding drinks and desserts!
First, we had to place our order at the self-ordering kiosk located at the front of the cafe! You don’t have to worry about payment methods as these machines accept NETS, Credit Cards and yes, cash!
Their amazing menu serves cuisines from all over the world – Japanese, Korean, American, Italian and even local dishes! There is bound to be something for EVERYONE.
The first dish we ordered was the Teriyaki Chicken Bowl! This meal came with a side of Chawanmushi and Miso soup.
The chicken portion was huge and generously coated in gooey, rich teriyaki sauce sprinkled with sesame seeds.
You can never go with a classic Japanese dish like this!
We also tried their Beef Rendang and this, was one of our favourites.
The chunks of Beef were really tender and flavourful and was soft and easy to chew.
In addition, we all know that Sambal Belacan chilli is an important component of Malay dishes and for us,
For western food lovers, be sure to order their crowd favourite – mini beef burgers!
These cute beef patties were juicy and flavourful on their own, therefore requiring no additional sauces or garnishing to enhance its taste. We also love how this can both be a meal for one or something to share with a group of friends as a side dish!
Another option for sharing would be their meat platter – Fat, juicy sausages, Chicken wings and Drumlets, along with fresh salad, mushrooms and mashed potatoes.
The portion for this is HUGE and we recommend it to be shared between at least 5-6 people if you’re looking to order their desserts for later! (Which are AMAZING and you should continue reading to find out more)
Next, we had their Otah Pizza, which reminded us of Kimchi Pancakes.
The pizza crust is thin, but not too crispy, therefore giving it a nice doughy pancake like texture.
Finally, we also ate their Crispy Seafood Noodles that came with fishcakes, prawns and sotong. This was another of our favourite – thick eggy gravy balanced with crispy, thin noodles. It was a really comforting dish to indulge in!
DESSERTS.
Fusionspoon has quite a wide selection of desserts – cakes, waffles, ice-cream and even korean Bingsu.
We chose their mango waffles that came with sweet chunks of mango drizzled with mango sauce, crunchy caramel biscuits and dried cranberries, waffles and vanilla ice cream.
Somehow, the combination of all the toppings worked really well together and we enjoyed this treat! However, we felt that the waffles would be nicer if it was fluffier and less dense.
We also ordered their Chocolate Bingsu – A shaved ice treat covered in chocolate powder, topped off with a scoop of creamy chocolate ice-cream and a flood of condensed milk!
This was a really refreshing end to our heavy lunch. However, you might want to request for more condensed milk. Unlike other Bingsu places that
