Are you a fan of Hong Kong Cuisine?

Now you can get all your favourite Hong Kong dishes under one roof at Central Hong Kong Cafe!

This gorgeous cafe has been decorated to mimic a dining experience in Hong Kong – with posters of the Hong Kong skyline and streets plastered all over, Hong Kong magazines hanging on various racks and even Hong Kong styled utensils.

The first item that we ordered was their Salted Egg Fish Skin.

Move over those pre-packaged salted egg fish skins, these babies are the REAL DEAL.

Their Salted Egg Fish skins are served fresh and warm. Though they look rather plain, every single Fried Fish Skin is coated generously in homemade salted egg sauce such that when you bite into one, your whole mouth gets flooded with the rich, grainy flavour of salted egg.

The salted egg sauce was spicy and more savoury, compared to other creamier, thicker salted egg sauces. We loved every single bite and recommend having a single plate to be shared by a maximum of 2 people. Any more than that and there’ll be war!

It was that delicious.

The next item we had was their Thousand Layer Tofu.

We know, this Tofu ain’t a thousand layers but each layer was smooth and silky, layered with crispy pork floss that added a burst of flavour to the otherwise plain and simple tofu.

We also ordered their Chicken Thigh Noodle that came with a huge serving of Chicken Thigh – All juicy and well marinated! The portion given is well worth your money.

The noodles were delightfully springy too!

Finally, we had their Chinese Sausage rice – a simple dish with a fried egg, french beans and two types of chinese sausages.

We would recommend this as a comfort food if you’re feeling down or if its rainy. Somehow, this simple dish won our hearts – who doesn’t love chinese sausages?? (No, we don’t care if its not exactly healthy)

The sausages were very flavourful and so it complemented the vegetables and plain rice well.

These few dishes that we tried are only a SMALL portion of Central Hong Kong Cafe’s menu.

There is a huge variety of other dishes (some inspired by Western cusine) such as Cheese Baked Rice, Hong Kong Milk Tea and dishes with a local twist such as DURIAN FRIED RICE! You will definitely be spoilt for choice!
